  • At Sylvania Heights the Support Teacher Learning Assistance works with staff, students and the Learning Support Team to:


    • assist in identifying and catering for the needs of students experiencing learning difficulties.
    • advise mainstream teachers on programs they can use in their classrooms and help implement them.
    • work with small groups of children to help them learn to read.
    • monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
    • provide information about appropriate resources to be used within the school and help ensure each child receives the individual attention they need.
    • apply to outside support services for individual assistance with literacy.
    • assess and monitor students to provide appropriate programs to be implemented by parents and/or peers.
                                                                                                               

    The STLA supports children from K-6 and strives to attain the best results.
